Fix it Yourself: Xbox 360

FEE0EADFR0ZSQE0.MEDIUMThere is nothing more frustrating than having your Xbox act up when you are in the middle of Grand Theft Auto calling your cousin, roman, to fetch you a car service in Miami.

Are you are having troubles with your Xbox 360 like three flashing red lights near the power button, or the red error ring, or other issues with getting too hot, graphic errors, as well as freezing up? Well, you are not alone. Albeit the Xbox 360 is much above various other gaming consoles, it is not ideal and your only choices for repair service are to deliver it back to Microsoft or do the repair works yourself.

The overheating trouble is just one of one of the most usual concerns and it can be taken care of most of the time by placing the console in a much more ventilated area. However, equipment failing (i.e., the three flashing lights) is the worst. You can disconnect and restart the console and often this fixes the issue but frequently you will see the very same error or after playing a while it will take place again. The system will have to have repairs done. Microsoft is able to execute these repairs, but the device needs to be delivered to them. This can take a few weeks and depending on the extent of the trouble could cost you around $150 to have the problem taken care of. So ideally after a couple of weeks and $150 later on Microsoft had the ability to repair the concern and your Xbox 360 is returned without being damaged en route.

Or, you can deal with the three flashing red lights issue on your own. To do this you will require the Xbox 360 Repair Guide. This guide provides straightforward easy to comply with directions on how you can deal with all equipment failings as well as other Xbox problems like overheating, graphics mistakes and freeze ups. Many people have reported obtaining their Xbox 360 back in working order in around an hour after reading the directions. Others have even begun their very own Xbox 360 repair work business buying problem consoles, fixing them, and offering them doubling their money!

As you can see this remedy way out works the turnaround time from Microsoft and also it’s more affordable in fact you could generate income from it.

How To Throw An Xbox Minecraft Party

If you have kids and haven’t heard of Minecraft you might be living under a rock.

My daughter asked me if we could have a Minecraft birthday party.  Huh? What happened to Disney and princesses and American Girl Doll parties. We’ve done a couple of them now. This picture is from one of our friend’s party!

Well if you are interested here are some ideas:

1. Food

As you can imagine anything cubed is in.  We had lots of sweets. Rice Crispy Treats were very easy and a huge hit. We also had brownie squares with green frosting for grass.  We had to try a couple of times but water cubes made from blue Jello was awesome.  We cubed watermelon for something on the healthy side.

  • We used pretzel sticks for torches and match sticks.  We used red frosting for fire.
  • We used rock candy for minerals
  • Carrots and apples
  • White shredded cheese for wool
  • Carmel squares for sand
  • Lastly, pizza cut into you guessed it … squares!

2. Drinks

  • We removed the labels off of water bottles and filled them with green Gatorade.  Them we made our own “Creeper Juice” labels.  I found small water bottle labels on the web and then used MS Word to create a design that worked perfectly for our party!

3. Decorations

  • I get crazy when it comes to decorating. I got some wrapping paper for gifts and suddenly the idea hit me.  Why not buy more wrapping paper and warp some old cardboard boxes I had laying around. Easy right?
  • I also purchased a few swords, and shovels.

4. Games

  • You guessed it MINECRAFT on our Xbox and on every spare Iphone we could find.

5. Favors

  • I got green gift bags from Party City and black tape from my husband’s tool box. I used the tape in strips and squares to make Creepers.  They were a big hit.
  • Inside I found a bunch of Minecraft toys online and put them in the favor bags with some of the leftover Rice Crispy Treats.

We had a great time.  The only thing that wasn’t great were my carpets afterward!  Yikes. I guess that is what you get for having twenty-five 8 year olds at your house for a gaming party.  Thank goodness I have a trusted carpet cleaner www.longbeachcarpetclean.com.  Make sure you have one lined up before attempting a party like this at your home.

TOP XBOX 360 GAMES OF ALL TIMES

For all those who love playing video games in their free time, Microsoft’s “seventh generation” gaming console, the Xbox 360 offers a plethora of opportunities. Whether you like playing first-person shooting games or you are thrilled by auto-racing, Xbox 360 offers a tremendous lineup of games across a wide variety of genre to suit your personality and taste.

Ever since the first official release of the original Xbox, no one was confident that one day Microsoft will dominate the home console business. Although the original Xbox was not a great hit and there were doubts about its success, but the scene changes when Microsoft introduced Xbox 360 in the market. Soon after its official release in 2005, Xbox 360 managed to become one of the best-selling gaming consoles in the world. It’s been more than thirteen years since the retail launch of Xbox 360, but its fame and popularity have only increased over the years. This is because this gaming console has offered hundreds of award-winning games to the video game lovers over all these years and the story continues to date. Although it is an extremely difficult task to pick and choose the best Xbox 360 games since all of them deserve the top ranks, here is a list of a few games that can be regarded as the most outstanding, popular, exciting, and just plain fun games of all times:

  • BioShock

Although Microsoft has released a series of BioShock game for the Xbox 360, the later sequels failed to gain as much fame as the first one. It is a first-person shooter game which offers you to use an array of deadly weapons and tactics never seen before. The first edition of the Bioshock takes you to the underwater city of Rapture where you are faced with creepy enemies and unknown creatures. The only way you can survive in this deep underwater world is to biologically modify your DNA and have access to superhuman powers. Although initially, it may seem like a simple first-person shooter game like any other game out there, as you proceed in the story, you will find it more interesting and extremely challenging.

  • Mass Effect

Just like BioShock, the Mass Effect series holds no parallels when it comes to most favorite Xbox 360 games of all times. If you like playing fiction games, this game series is meant for you. Mass Effect games will take you into a futuristic universe where you will face many aliens.  The Mass Effect game series is developed by a Canadian company named BioWare. The game is released for all major gaming platforms i.e. PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows. The first edition of the game was officially released in 2007 and since then 4 newer versions have been introduced.

  • Forza Motorsport 4

If you like the adrenaline rush of high-speed racing, the Forza Motorsport 4 game is meant for you. It is regarded as the best simulation racing game series of the Xbox 360.

Is There Still Room for the Original Xbox?

xbox-xboxUnless you have actually been living under a rock, after that you have heard about the Xbox 360, the mom of all video game systems … well other than the Playstation 3 in addition to the Nintendo box currently code-named “Revolution.” Anyway, the Xbox 360 has more than 25 or so titles to pick from. If you have actually seen the games in action  you understand exactly how effective this newer system is when compared with the initial Xbox or any other game console presently offered. The games are nothing short of gorgeous.  And finally you have the compatibility of the 360 that enables you to play most the initial Xbox video games.

Currently having said all this, one would think that the life span of the initial Xbox is brief at ideal. Yet is this actually the situation? Let’s consider a couple of more details.

At this point the deficiency of the 360 is driving the rate at locations like Amazon and Ebay through the roof. I have actually seen prices as high as $1500 for some package deals. Also if you obtain one for the market price, it’s still 3 times greater then the initial Xbox, which is currently normally in the reduced hundreds. However the largest factor the Xbox will certainly not go away quietly is the same reason the Playstation 2 is still going strong … the video games. Individuals who’ve been buying and trading games for years currently are not going to upgrade their system immediately. A minimum of quite a while. Yet even if they do, all one has to do is consider the success of the GameBoy and Playstation 2 and also the commitment of their customers. Video game designers still make ready these consoles since they still market like hot cakes. It actually is everything about the video games. Its the primary factor you see Xbox free gifts, and the factor Microsoft takes a loss with every system they market … or so they state.

So while the Xbox 360 could be the large boy on the block today, do not cross out the initial Xbox right now. It’ll be around for some time as well as the best could be yet ahead!

It is a video gaming system first made in 2001 in the United States by Microsoft, it was the first video game console made by an American company since the Atari stopped sales in 1996. In 2005, the Xbox 360 was released and since then over 84 million consoles have been sold making it the sixth highest selling video game console in history. Not only does the Xbox has thousands of games to choose from with new games coming out all of the time, but there is also music, sports, apps, and movies available through the console. Xbox games to play with your kids

My kids are at the age where they still love to play the old fashioned  card games and board games that I used to play when I was a kid.  But, they also love to play video games.  I have a window before playing video games with mom isn’t fun any more. So, I decided to looking into video games that I could play with my kids that would be fun for all of us.

My top 5 in no particular order:

1. Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved

Remember the Disney film Fantasia? While the name is similar, the game isn’t the same as the story in the movie at all.  There are a few references to it when Yen Sid helps you as a new apprentice.  You have to get rid of the “NOISE” and create music by moving your arms to cues on the screen. The game is easy and fun to play with your kids.  There are songs from today all the way through old, old classical symphonies.  We love to talk about the music when we play it or the words in the songs if there are any.  Some of them are pretty corny!

2. Minecraft

Long Beach Carpet Cleaners

This is one of our favorite games.  My daughter’s school even has a minecraft after school program.  You build homes and shelters, dig for resources, create flower gardens and explore the world that you are in. There is no win or lose ore killing (well killing sheep for wool and cows for meat), just creativity. It has kept my kids busy for hours and hours.

3. Osmo

I discovered this little gem as I was researching Christmas presents for my kids.  It works with an iPad.  You set your iPad in a specially designed stand, connect a mirror over the camera and start up the application.  There are 3 games that came with the set that I purchased for like $80.  The three were: Spelling, Drawing, and Puzzles.  I

The drawing game is really cool.  You can use your face, and different textures to bounce balls into their targets.  If you use a substance like Ketchup on a piece of paper, it understands that the imaginary balls or dots can “bounce”.  If you use a flat surface like a table or piece of paper, they don’t bounce.

Check out this video by Bratayley: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgMTmWJ9WG8.  My daughter loved Bratayley so much she started to watch all of the other videos out there by her.  To the point that I was begging my daughter, “No more Bratayley videos!”.

4. Mario Kart 8

Who doesn’t love Mario Kart?  I mean have been playing this game since we were kids right? I remember playing it with my nephew 10 years ago and it just doesn’t get old.

The characters are all there: Luigi, Yoshi and Donkey Kong. I love going underwater and through the air, up the walls – talk about crazy. We still find ourselves racing into the wee hours of the night on non school nights!

5. Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham

If there were enough Lego “stuff” to do.  It is a fun, but my son seems to enjoy playing it more than my daughter.  The bad guys explode into Lego pieces when they die – so it isn’t like it’s violent, but still isn’t as “happy” as the others mentioned above.

You are in a virtual world flying around trying to save the world.  There is definitely humor in this game.  More for adults than for kids. The kids love working together to try to get to the bonus worlds.  It’s cool to seem them work / play together.

You can’t go wrong if you play video games with your kid that you also enjoy! Visit my blog again soon for more fun articles.

My First Xbox Blog – Is Gaming Anti-Social

Growing up playing games like Sega, Xbox, PlayStations etc. I always felt it was a social experience – like any other social media out there, but more so.  I was connected real time with other players.  No waiting for someone to respond in Facebook or to your latest Tweet.

I remember my nephews (and I and a few new random online friends) sitting around yelling at each other to shoot someone or watch out for the Grunt. We would stay up all night passing the controller back and forth – finding new people to play with and meet.

It doesn’t seem like it was that long ago, but it guess it was.  When I actually find a spare minute in between my new job and night school to sit down and go into a game and I rarely find anyone to play with.  Is it because we all grew up and there is no more time?  If I do find someone – nobody turns their microphones on any more.  If you don’t have your mike on and have no conversation going on – how do you ever meet anyone?

Maybe it is the anti-bullying thing going on.  Everyone is afraid to say anything for fear of being labeled a bully. I get so tired of all of the hype around the latest issues that seem to creep into unexpected places….like gaming.  Of course I am anti-bullying, but in all my years of playing – there may have been smack talk, but nobody was bullied.  Everyone just had fun, laughed and drank energy drinks.

Happy Gaming:
